2. Documentation required for applying fee paying student visa in New Zealand

For applying a student visa below are the requirements

  • An offer letter from the Kiwi universities. If applying for a pathway course, you are required to get the pathway student visa cover letter approved by the pathway education provider.
  • Tuition fee payment evidence
  • Proof of the income and the source of income
  • Photocopy of the passport
  • Police verification certificate
  • Health insurance

You are required to show the evidence that you have enough funds to cover the living cost throughout the stay in New Zealand. You need to show you have NZ $20,000 for a full year of study or NZ 1250 per month. This may include

  • A scholarship program
  • Bank statements
  • Financial support from sponsors to cover accommodation and living expenses. 
  • After completion of your course evidence that you are leaving New Zealand, it is optional that you can include the flight ticket and it.
  • As a proof of character certificate, a police certificate is required if you are over 17 years in order to stay more than 24 months.
  • Full medical examination
  • An x-ray report if you are staying more than 6 months, if you are a citizen of a country or spent more than 3 months in the last five years in a country with high risk of tuberculosis.

At the New Zealand embassy or consulate, you are required to attend a personal interview.

You are required to use the New Zealand immigration site for applying for student visa applications online. Before the intended class date you can apply 120 days prior. Byt remember the application date is the date of your application fee paid date.
