1. University of Szeged
This is a public research university established in 1581 as Jesuit Academy of Kolozsvar and the institution was re-established in 1872 by Emperor Franz Joseph I. This university is the oldest research university in Hungary relocated to Szeged in 1921. This university also has an operational part in Klebelsberg Library, the largest university library in Central Europe. The motto of the university is “Truth. Bravery. Freedom”.

2. University of Debrecen
This university is a public university located in Debrecen, Hungary. It is the oldest higher education institution in Hungary still in operation and was established in 1538. 9. University of Miskolc
This is the largest university of northern Hungary established in 1735 in the city of Miskolc. 10. University of Pannonia
The university was founded in 1949 and it is a public university located in Veszprém, Hungary.
